Maximum Kayal's story began in 1997 as Nesukellari Trash Band. The current name has been in use since 2004 in Loviisa's RäyhäRock and this phase was preceded by Hilloviivan Hiihtoseura and 2BMW.

In addition, there have been numerous friends featuring at concerts - such as e.g. RäyhäRock's honorary chairman Johnny Burner aka Juha Palotie, Vertti Kivi, VP Mölsä, Riku Österman.

Maximum Kayal with its precursors and side projects (Bangkok Shocks, Maxgelato, Skymax, Fire&Bunny, Mitkö Bonarit, J-Bomb, MaxToms, Surmjölk spelar Britney Spears & Sleepy Sleepers, Herkät Pyöriäiset, Home Made Band, Gunnars and Groceries, J Ganes Band, Toastmaster, Honeyballs, Ohtopussy, 15 Minutes of Fame, Solkiukot, Futhamuggas) have over 25 years covered 400+ songs.
